Item color means nothing but...
Why do people differentiate between a white item and a purple item of exact same stats? Ive run into a slew of potential buyers lately that, when for example they see the item is blue not gold, they refuse to pay full price. None respond when I ask what the difference is. I am dumbfounded. For example, a blue Furious Fellblade of Fortitude does the EXACT same thing as a gold Furious Fellblade of Fortitude... not talking about extra %dmg mods, none of the [insert nicer word for retard]s have complained about that. They just wanted it purple or gold. Im having EQ2 flashbacks when people laughed at me for wearing grey gear which had vastly superior stats than their 'higher con' yellow gear...
Maybe someone here knows? Is there a new game mechanic related to rarity that no one let me in on? Colorblind, Aer |

Well, there are limits on the +xx%s. The highest +xx%>50 for purple weapons is +12%. The lowest for +xx%>50 for gold weapons is +12%, and the highest is +15%. Plus people like gold text.

Don't worry i tried to sell an old rune of superior protection prayer i had and 3 person refused it because it wasn't yellow. Either they thought i tried to scam them or they really only want yellow text stuff.
I can't see what is so different beside the text color. |

See, in the psychological arena, it is widely believed that yellow text has a calming effect on the human psyche. The lack of the blue side of the spectrum subdues the person, and they're willing to pay full price. However, if any form of the blue spectrum is in the text (in blue and purple both), a chemical kicks in and makes them belligerent and lose any ability to reason.
>_> Yeah, I totally didn't make that up. |

Its aesthetics, just like with fissure armor. People want the best things for their characters so they will want gold or green items above purple and blue even if the items do exactly the same thing just because they KNOW gold and green are generally better
Way of the world I guess.......:P |
